Hollow out a medium sized green cabbage, add water and stems, then garnish the arrangement with fresh Brussel Sprouts. A custard cup in the base of the cabbage held the water. The Lenten Rose stems were 4-5 inches long . Lenten Roses grow close to the ground and are perennials meaning they will bloom each winter. In spring and summer the leaves are dark green and make a great statement in a flower bed. My three plants are planted in the shade by a large rock wall. Worth the three year waiting period to bloom. Hum, three plants.. three years??? Does that have anything to do with it? Probably not. Ha Ha.
The Brussel sprouts around the cabbage add another layer of texture and variation of green.
