Decorating for the Holiday at Number One Observatory Circle was a great honor this season! Being part of a talented group of designers and seeing all the creative decorations and decor was thrilling to behold. The home is beautifully decorated with live evergreen trees, garlands, bows, ornaments, and everything Christmas! Check out a few behind the scenes photos of this decorating adventure!
It was an honor being asked to help volunteer as a Holiday decorator for the Vice President’s Residence for Christmas November 2016. The event had been planned and prepared by Helen Olivia Florists in Alexandria Virginia. Approximately 50 highly skilled volunteers implemented the planned decor for the residence. Last minute floral arrangements, Evergreen wreaths and garlands, potted greenery and decorating fresh trees and mantels was part of the decorating elements to be completed. The overall theme was “gratitude”.
Pine, cedar, holly, and fir branches were part of the fresh Evergreen mix along with Magnolia leaves making the smells of Christmas come alive. Christmas music played in the background during the decorating extravaganza. Unfortunately, we did not meet Vice President Biden and Dr. Biden during our stay in DC.
Rooms that were decorated included, the beautiful Navy and White Dining Room, the Lemon Yellow Living Room, the Biden Pool House, Stair well, and the Woodsy Themed Sun Room. Of course many other rooms in the home was decked out in Holiday decor. Here are a few photos of the of decorating event.
