Ingredients

Dough:

6 tablespoons chilled butter, shredded

11/4 cups all purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

11/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Filling:

5 cups triple berries, frozen or fresh- blueberries, raspberries and blackberries

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Garnish:   Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray cast iron skillet with cooking spray.  Set aside.
  2. In saucepan, mix sugar, corn starch and cinnamon, stir to combine over medium heat.  Add lemon juice and fruit.  Cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils.
  3. Pour fruit in skillet or 9 x 13 baking dish.
  4. In small mixing bowl, add flour and cut in butter, add sugar, baking powder and salt until mixture resembles fine crumbs.  Add in milk and vanilla.
  5. Drop dough by large spoonfuls onto warm fruit mixture.
  6. Bake until topping is golden brown about 25 minutes.  Serve warm.
  7. Garnish with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
