Nothing expresses the romance of Valentines Day without a lovely pink and red tablescape. Red stemware to the pink and red roses in the centerpiece will take your breathe away this Valentine’s Day. Easy to create place-settings featuring white dinnerware gracefully layered on pink and gold embellished chargers with gold flatware. Ruffled white napkins with hot pink napkin ring pulls the fuschia pink ribbon laced centerpiece. Everyone will remember this lovely table setting for Valentine’s Day.
How to Set this Valentine’s Day Table
The white linen damask tablecloth covers the table, if you don’t have white use blush pink, because a table cloth provides a gently hint of softness to the overall tone of the table. It’s the perfect backdrop. Next build the place-settings taking your color direction from your floral centerpiece.
In this setting, pink and gold embellished chargers, found on amazon, was the perfect choice to balance the pink florals. We will talk about the centerpiece in a minute. Bringing out the classic white dinner plate and a cute heart shaped bowl layered together on the pink and gold charger make a pretty statement and repeated the white in tablecloth and ruffled napkins. Gold also was repeated with the white and gold tipped flatware. It’s about repeating the color and accents that makes a lovely table scape.
I was drawn to the pink and red fresh flowers I found at my local grocery store floral department. Actually the flowers were my inspiration. Red, pink roses, purple snapdragons, little bit of greenery, long lasting alstroemeria, pink and white hydrangea arranged in floral foam in a pleated ribbon hot pink/fuchsia ribbon covered brass container. I attached the ribbon with hot glue only in one spot. This allowed me to use the container again as well as keep the ribbon for another project.
While the pink tapers emphasized the pink roses and the red stemware and red roses just made the table sing with beauty. I think that was the shining moment when I added the pink tapers and blush stemware. This really made the table come alive. Can you tell I like it??? Also I added stuffed pink velvet hearts at each place-setting. Notice the base of the centerpiece. Under the pleated ruffled ribbon is a brass planter. The link is not the same ribbon but it is pretty.

Don’t Forget the Rest of the Room
In addition to setting a lovely table, make sure your room is color coordinated with the table. My dining room walls and table is winter white, with white duck cloth draperies so I can decorate this room in any color. I also have white wing back chairs in the same fabric as my draperies. Not to worry they are easy to clean; some wonder why I use so much white but honestly it is the perfect palate for creating, its a blank canvas without being boring. Every color, texture and style goes with white. Don’t be afraid of using white you will love it too.
On the white wing back chairs I carried the pink and red color scheme with a floral print Valentine pillow covers. I love pillow covers!!! They have some many choices today so all you need are good quality pillow forms that you can transform with pillow covers. I found the pillow covers in this photo from Hobby Lobby in 2023. Unfortunately they don’t have the same ones,, but Amazon has several you can select from. You can also add artwork to white walls or if you have a buffet or book case shelving, add decorative red and pink dishes or pictures to carry the scheme. Notice the pillows have the pink and red flowers.
Hope you will create a pretty table for Valentines day. Let me see photos of your creative works. xo Liz
