They are perfect for individual place-settings for Easter dinner, or wrapped in cellophane for gift giving, take home favors. They are also pretty on a cake stand for your spring brunches. How to Make Chocolate Bird Nest No Bake Recipe

Gather your ingredients. You will need shredded wheat, chow mein crispy noodles, dark semi sweet chocolate chips, creamy peanut butter or almond butter, Cadbury candy eggs or candies of choice to fill basket. Jelly Beans, Jordan Almonds (although I find these to be hard to eat), lemoncello almonds, foil covered chocolate eggs.

Recipe makes 12 muffin sized nests. you will also need a standard muffin pan for 12. If you decide to make smaller nests for cupcakes, you will use a smaller glass bowl or cup to fit proportionally on top of cupcake.

Here’s How to Make the Nests

1. Prepare 12 cup muffin tin. Lightly spray coat with cooking spray each cup . Set aside.

2.Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter  in a double boiler, over low heat. Stir until smooth.

3.Add chow mein noodles and cereal, and stir to combine until thoroughly coated.

4. Place 2- 3 tablespoons of mixture inside the of a muffin tin  cups. Press mixture  up the sides and down in the middle of each cup to create a “nest” shape.

5. Add 3-5 Cadbury Eggs to each nest or candy of choice.

Notes

  • *Peanut butter is optional, just will make 10 nests. Or substitute peanut butter for  almond butter.
  • If you want free shape the mixture into smaller nests, as for decorating cupcakes, use 1 to 2 tablespoons of mixture and shape with hands to form small sized nests. Lightly spray your hands with cooking spray or butter to form the shapes with hands. You can also use a smaller cup/bowl to form if you don’t want to use your hands.
