6– 1/2 cups whole or 2% milk
1–1/4 cups semi sweet chocolate, grated
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup boiling water
1 cup sugar
1–1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1–1/4 cups semi sweet chocolate, grated
Assorted condiments: fresh whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, mini and large marshmallows, candy canes, flavored syrups.
Instructions
- In large saucepan, combine grated chocolate, sugar and salt. Add boiling water, stir to combine.
- Bring mixture to a boil, add milk and heat until hot but not boiling.
- Add vanilla, stir to combine.
- Pour into thermos or carafe/mugs.
- Garnish with assorted condiments.
