How to set a Pretty in peach Southern Tablescape lizbushong.com

Life is a peach enjoy its juice moments with a pretty in peach tablescape. Fuzzy white and yellow peaches picked from the orchard makes a simple centerpiece while peach reversible napkins with rings, vintage stemware and candlelight shimmers softly as a southern summer sunset! Who wouldn’t want to dine at this table?

For this table-scape I started with an old pallet that had weathered beautifully for a rustic setting. After removing the slats from the pallet my handy husband rebuilt the slats into a pretty table top that actually sits over the top of my favorite table for 4.

Rustic can be elegant! I love how this turned out with the white dinner plates, and small crystal cordial glasses filled with peach colored alstroemeria flowers. Fresh peaches from white to pink filled a gravy boat shaped bowl for easy centerpiece.

Gold white tapers and pillars in glass candle holders coordinates with the vintage stemware and adds easy elegance to the table and place-settings.  Simple gold flatware enhances the place-setting and repeats the gold candles. I always like to repeat the color scheme at least three times to make an impact.

For Impact Use a Monochromatic Color Scheme

My favorite classic white plates and charger made a nice contrast to the rustic table top. Then the wooden napkin rings tied it all together.  After this table was set and the candles were lit it was sooo pretty! I just took a moment and sat at the table to enjoy the beauty.

Of course I did sip on my sweet ginger peach tea and nibbled on the mini peach pie while enjoying the almost sunset setting. Yes my dessert and beverage coordinated with the table scheme. This really makes setting and serving dessert and sips super easy for entertaining. Guess that is one of my signature techniques. It just keeps me on track, is budget friendly and makes decisions easy.

I couldn’t find peach napkins so I made some. Hobby Lobby had cotton blend solid peach and printed fabric that I used for reversible napkins. Starting with an 18″ x 18″ square, the solid peach was placed on top of the printed 19″ x 19″ square placing wrong sides together. Then the 19″ piece being larger than the inner solid fabric was folded in 1/2″ widths. Pressing the 1/2 ” intervals twice made the napkins the same size. I topstitched the two napkins together along the edge of the fold all around the napkin. Its not hard and you get two napkins in one.  The napkins are the perfect weight to hold napkin folds or simple nosegay fold as these napkins in the photo.

The rustic napkin ring I found at Hobby Lobby last year. They are heavy duty with faux bark all around the sides. These help repeat the rustic feel of the table. Casual but elegant rustic. Is that a new trend? Maybe.. but it was easy to put together.  Hope you will create a beautiful table scape for your family and friends.

Tips on Setting This Kind of Table

1.Start with a piece of fresh fruit, check out the color variations of the fruit.

2.Select your color scheme from the colors you observe.

3. Limit the colors to three selections. Use these colors only through out the scape as in napkins, centerpiece flowers, to dessert selections.

4. Determine accent color. In my case, it was yellow gold, it repeats in the peaches, center of flowers and gold candles. Repeat accent at least three times.

5. Bring out your classic white dinner plates, clear glass beverage glasses and simple candlesticks. Green leaves and bark are neutral naturals and coordinate with the outdoor tree leaves and tree bark. If you can’t figure out what to do look to nature for inspiration.
